                                      Lise St-Cyr Artist                 

Born in Montreal, Lise St-Cyr has studied at Sherbrooke University and was formed in private classes. She has started her watercolor debuts as a portraitist and executed more than 60 portraits since 1991. She discovers watercolor on canvas in 2005. Different from paper, this support brings her spontaneity and freedom. She develops her technique of an abstract background with a figurative style, playing with acrylics also. Without drawing and pre-conceived idea, she brings      out her subjects on completely free washes, guided only by emotion. her constantly to new horizons. She is inspired by her world trips, the different themes that live in her.

     In 2008 she explores mixed medium sculpture with Paverpol hardening product, a Holland medium of which she became the Quebec distributor and is in charge of training teachers to reveal this wonderful Art form all over the province. She has now formed more than 100 teachers, from Montreal to Gaspésie, extending this training to the Maritimes, United States, Barbados and France.

       In 2012 with collegues of the Lakeshore Association of Artists she has founded the West Island ” Art Rush ” , an Art Route who reunited 5  important West Island Associations which took place in April ,www.rueverslartrush.blogspot.com

In 2016 she became the Importer for Paverpol Canada and is now in charge of organizing Master Classes throughout Canada and establishing a continued interest for this medium all over the country. With her husband Michel as a partner she has created an enterprise for this business “Momification inc”

In 2020, she discovers a new avenue to teach and transfer her knowledge. She creates herself video tutorials that she sells through her website. She is then approached by Curious Mondo,  she will make with them several ‘live’ classes, that have been watched by more than 15 countries.

In 2021 she retires from being Paverpol Canada Importer and Distributor in Quebec, and from being an art teacher. She decides to give all her energy to simply create art.

Lise St-Cyr has done many solo and group exhibitions and is represented in several galleries in Quebec, Miami and Portugal. She is a member of the  Canadian Watercolor Association, Figurative Art Institute and the Lakeshore Association of artists.
